Ally Shrimp DoubleThe original of the species. It is not very often that a fly appears on the scene which has such a dramatic effect on the minds of fisherman. All one has to do is read the angling report of any river throughout Ireland or Britain and it will be seen that this fly will feature more regularly than any other. Many say that it is because everybody fishes them, but that has also been the case for a very good reason, success ! Based on the colours of shrimps which were examined by Ally Gowans, this fly has a proven popularity on a world-wide basis, and justifiably so. Suited very well to fast and streamy water, due to its ability to maintain it's shape and a long and flowing tail, this fly has few equals. It has spawned many colour variants, including the Cascade, Yellow, Silver , Tumell and Special.
